The role emphasizes advanced cooking techniques, proper equipment operation, sanitation, and mentoring Cook I team members to ensure consistent, exceptional service for patients, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2+ years cook experience as required.
  • ServeSafe or local health certification is mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks food according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and plating standards while ensuring quality and consistency.

Summary Job Description: Cook II Full Time 1st Shift Food Service

The Food & Nutrition Services team at Baptist Health Lexington supports patient care by providing safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals. The Cook II prepares a variety of food items for patient services, cafeteria, and catering while following standardized recipes, culinary standards, and food safety guidelines. This role ensures quality food production through advanced cooking techniques, proper equipment operation, sanitation practices, and teamwork to deliver exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff. The Cook II prepares high-quality food for patient dining, cafeteria, catering, and chef stations while following recipes, culinary standards, and food safety guidelines. Responsibilities include advanced food preparation, equipment operation, quality presentation, sanitation, mentoring team members, and supporting efficient kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years minimum cook experience
  • ServeSafe Foodservice Handlers or Local Health Department Certification
  • Must complete Rouxbe Culinary Training course within 6 months
  • 2 year Culinary Degree preferred
