Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated food service cook for our facility in Nome, AK. Under general supervision, you will prepare a wide range of foods according to the menu, maintain production records, and support the kitchen team to meet daily service demands.

You will supervise detainee staff, lead orientation and training, manage ordering and inventory, and ensure a robust sanitation and safety program is followed. A high school diploma and relevant food service experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• College credits or relevant food service training preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in quantity food production in commercial, military, or institutional setting or equivalent.
• Valid, active driver's license.
• Ability to communicate minimum production/service requirements to all personnel.

Responsibilities

• Cooks food as directed in the facility's menu plan and ensures recipes meet population requirements.
• Directs work, provides training, and inspects detainee food service staff.
• Conducts orientation and training programs for staff.
• Responsible for preparation scheduling and QA of foods and supplies.
• Place orders for food and supplies and manage deliveries/inventory.
• Ensure sanitation and safety program is practiced in all areas.
