Job summary

The University of Iowa's University Housing & Dining is seeking a Cook I to join Hillcrest Marketplace. This role involves preparing meals under supervision, following standardized recipes, and performing related prep and sanitation duties.

Shift is predominantly 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm, with occasional 7:30 am – 4:00 pm shifts and weekend work. Requires attention to safety, ServSafe readiness, and a friendly, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• One year work experience in a customer service role.
• One year cooking experience in an operation required to have and maintain a food service license.
• Ability to take ServSafe course and pass within one year of hire.
• Interest in and the ability to learn basic computer and keyboarding skills; including email and electronic time accruals.
