Job description

A Cook is responsible for the preparation and execution of food items in accordance with the menu, recipes, directions, and established standards, contributing to the restaurant's ongoing efforts to create outstanding dining experiences, exceptional service, and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

As a Cook, you will prepare food items following recipes, prep lists, menus, directions, and established standards, supporting the restaurant's goal of delivering excellent dining experiences, service, and profitability.

Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Assist in preparing food items, including chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing dishes from start to finish.
  2. Follow recipes, directions, and instructions provided by the Chef, Kitchen Supervisors, and trainers.
  3. Create guest orders from start to finish in a friendly, timely, efficient, and accurate manner.
  4. Maintain knowledge of the menu and products.
  5. Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of workstations and kitchen equipment, adhering to safety and sanitation guidelines per regulations.
  6. Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  7. Chill, heat, and hold products properly.
  8. Assist in setting up and breaking down kitchen stations for service.
  9. Support other kitchen team members and departments during busy periods or special events.
  10. Follow safety and sanitation policies at all times.
  11. Receive and store kitchen deliveries as needed.
  12. Continue to learn and apply culinary skills and knowledge, with guidance from the kitchen team.
  13. Communicate effectively within the kitchen, with other departments, and leadership.
