Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Spotsylvania County, VA, is hiring a Cook I – Restaurant. You’ll work with the Restaurant Chef to support kitchen operations, prep, and ensuring quality and presentation of dishes for dining room, room service, and outlets.

Cook I – Restaurant

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Cook I – Restaurant.In this role, you’ll work alongside the Restaurant Chef to help keep our restaurant and kitchen operation running smoothly. You’ll assist with preparing food for the restaurant, room service/Togo, and food outlet meals; help ensure each dish meets our quality and presentation standards before it reaches our guests; and support a clean, safe, and well‑organized kitchen and storage environment. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys hands‑on culinary work, takes pride in food quality, and wants to be part of a team that minimizes waste while delivering memorable dining experiences.

As part of our team, you’ll bring our Promise to Lead with Love to life by preparing made‑to‑order food with consistency, care, and quality.

Pay Rate: $15-$16/hour

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Make pizza dough and sauces.
• Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to the facility recipes, portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation standards.

• Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.

WhatWe’reLooking For

• 1 + years of experience in a high-volume restaurant/food/concessions outlet production kitchen is preferred, or experience in a similar capacity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs. without restriction.

• Ability to work on nights, weekends, and holidays.
