Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Restaurant Cook to assist the restaurant Chef in preparing and completing food items. As part of the leadership team, you will embody the Promise to Lead with Love, guiding and inspiring associates while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will collaborate with the culinary team to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency. English proficiency is required, ServSafe certification is a plus, and prior hotel restaurant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of progressive culinary experience in a hotel restaurant/food outlet facility or related field.
• State or Local Law may require a food handling certification; ServSafe certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment such as grills, steam tables, ovens, slicers, knives.
• Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively; bilingual preferred.
• A leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food and beverage products are prepared and served according to recipes, portions, timing, and presentation standards.
• Keep equipment clean and in excellent condition through personal checks and preventive maintenance programs.
• Comply with all health, safety, and labor regulations at the kitchen areas, associates, and guests.

Restaurant Cook

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking aRestaurant Cook. In this role, you will be responsiblefor assisting the restaurant Chef in the preparation and completion of food items. As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. Your professionalism and helpful attitude will set the tone for a positive overall impression of the Kalahari.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to the facility recipes, portioning, cooking, timing, serving, and presentation standards.
• Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the culinary preventative maintenance programs.
• Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the kitchen areas, associates and guests.

What We’re Looking For

• 1 year of progressive culinary experience in a hotel restaurant/food outlet facility or related field helpful.
• State or Local Law may require a certificate upon completion of state-certified proper food handling certification. ServSafe® certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of equipment to be operated, but not limited to are: Flat grill, Pasta well, Steam table, Browning oven, Cheese chopper/grater, Steam jacket, Ovens, Top Burners, Pizza and Dessert Cooler, Slicer, Broiler, Steamer, and Knives.
• Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English effectively. Bi-lingual skills are preferred but not required.
• A leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others.
