Job Description

Position Summary

Assist the Cook with food preparation, handling specific food items, and possibly serving meals. Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety in handling foods, equipment, and supplies.

Essential Duties

• Assist Cook on meal line and with grill items.
• Help wait staff in the dining room.
• Prepare and distribute snacks and nourishments.
• Receive and store deliveries.
• Assist with clean-up duties.
• Maintain proper rotation, labeling, and dating of items.
• Follow standardized recipes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• At least three months experience in quantity food preparation preferred.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Handle objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently.
• Stand, bend, and move continuously.
• May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
• Subject to interruptions and interaction with residents, families, and visitors.
