ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:

The Cook I at MSP Airport is responsible for delivering the OTG guest experience. The ability to prepare food to the correct temperature, portion, and plating specifications while maintaining a clean and sanitized area is critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in OTG’s prep kitchens and/or on the line of one of OTG’s fast-casual concepts.
  • Support the BOH by prepping ingredients for the lines.
  • Prepare food to the correct temperature, portion size, and plating standards according to OTG specifications.
  • Ensure the quality of all food items prepared meets OTG standards and restaurant directions.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
  • Operate all kitchen equipment safely (stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.).
  • Maintain a professional appearance, including clean uniform and personal hygiene.
  • Develop positive working relationships and work toward guest satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be fully conversational in English.
  • 1 to 2 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced restaurant, demonstrating entry-level cooking skills (prepping, grilling, frying, etc.).
  • Must obtain ServSafe Certification or equivalent within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of cooking procedures, safety, and sanitation.
  • Able to lift 35 lbs. or more.
  • Supportive team player with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be mobile and able to stand for extended periods, and able to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Availability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, holidays, and in bad weather conditions; flexibility is required.
