Job description

Located in the vibrant heart of downtown Minneapolis' entertainment district, The Lofton Hotel offers an upscale experience with a perfect blend of modern amenities and exceptional service. Compensation:

$24.72/HR

What will you be doing?
  1. Prepare and cook food quickly and correctly following all required recipes and complete in a timely fashion.
  2. Store food properly, using correct rotation, dating, and labeling.
  3. Determine inventory needs and requisition from the storeroom.
  4. Set up equipment needed for preparation prior to service.
  5. Maintain high quality in food production and presentation, ensuring plates are crisp and clean.
  6. Keep all cooking areas clean and sanitized, maintaining personal hygiene.
  7. Communicate effectively with other cooks, wait staff, and management.
What do you bring to the role?
  1. Ability to read orders from the point of sale system.
  2. Professional culinary education or 3 years of similar experience.
  3. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food items.
  4. Understanding of cooking techniques for steaks at various temperatures, prime rib roasting, and meat cutting skills for USDA meats, pork, veal, lamb, and wild game.
  5. Proficiency in various cooking stations: sauté, grill, fry, and poultry.
  6. Garnishing skills and experience.
  7. Proficiency in English.
  8. Ability to work long hours, under pressure, and various shifts.
