Job Requirements

The Hilton Madison Monona Terrace hotel is in search of a Line Cook to join our team! We are looking for a candidate with little to some experience in a kitchen environment. Basic knife skills, understanding of sanitation, organizational skills, and the ability to read and follow recipes are required.

Essential Functions
  1. Set up equipment and supplies prior to service.
  2. Read food orders and prepare food quickly while following recipes.
  3. Prepare food for employee meals.
  4. Inventory perishable foods and notify managers of expiring products.
  5. Prepare banquet foods as requested.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and organization of coolers, and store food properly with labeling and rotation.
  7. Maintain food service standards before, during, and after service.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Follow instructions of the chef and read orders from the POS system.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, food items, and all kitchen stations.
  • Understand the importance of controlling food waste.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and willingness to work nights and weekends.
