Job summary

The Moorings of Arlington Heights is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dining team in Arlington Heights, IL. This full-time role offers an hourly rate based on experience and requires 2nd shift coverage, including Sundays, in a mission-driven senior living community.

You will prepare a variety of dishes from scratch, ensure food safety, and coordinate across dining areas to maintain high quality and timely service. Join a compassionate team focused on wellness, independence, and resident joy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of restaurant/cafeteria cooking experience.
• Serve Safe food handler certification preferred, not required.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Preparing a variety of dishes from scratch, including accompaniments and garnishes.
• Adhering to food safety and quality guidelines.
• Working across different dining areas as needed.
• Demonstrating thorough knowledge of preparation techniques for all dining settings.
• Planning and organizing daily food production to ensure timely service.
• Maintaining proper portioning, plating, and presentation standards.
