Position: Nutrition Services / Cook Helper

Job Responsibilities

1. Follow Cook Manager or Cook’s instructions in heating, cooking, and pre-dishing food, as well as setting up serving areas.
2. Follow instructions in portioning, garnishing, and serving food items.
3. Follow procedures for clean-up of kitchen and serving areas.
4. Maintain standards of safety and sanitation in handling, storing, and serving food.
5. Accurately perform record-keeping as requested by Cook Manager.
6. Assist in preparing food items.
7. Perform point-of-sale and cashiering duties as part of kitchen rotation.
8. Perform other similar duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. ServSafe Certification is desirable.
2. Computer experience is helpful.
3. Ability to follow oral and written directions.
4. Basic math skills required.
5. Enjoy working with students.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the public.
7. Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 40 pounds, as assessed through a pre-placement physical at Concentra.

Additional Details

Assignment: 4-6 hours per day, with applicant choice in half-hour increments. Building assignment may change based on staffing needs.
