Job Description

As a Pomptonian Cook, your ability and skill will be called upon to prepare consistently high-quality foods.

Responsibilities

• Follow recipes and adhere to the guidelines of the Bureau of Child Nutrition.
• Prepare food, serve, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with food and food quality.
• Keep food production records.
• Help co-workers grow professionally.
• Maintain high standards of food sanitation.
• Participate in annual continuing education/training programs.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods, with frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and lifting (25-50 pounds).
• Experience with cafeteria equipment (warmer, fryer, slicer, grill, POS system).
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work well with others and follow directions.
• Capability to multitask within established timeframes.
• Focus and accuracy in duties.
• Willingness to learn and apply policies and procedures.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Meet all training requirements under Professional Standards.
• Understanding of food and kitchen safety in accordance with food handlers guidelines.
