Job Title: Cook
  • We are hiring immediately for a full-time and part-time COOK position.
  • Location: Missouri Valley College - 500 East College Street, Marshall, MO 65340. Note: online applications accepted only.
  • Schedule: Full-time and part-time schedules. Monday through Thursday: 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm; Sunday: 11:30 am to 8:00 pm; more details upon interview.
  • Requirement: Previous cook experience is preferred but not required.
  • Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Prepares food according to applicable standards, guidelines, and regulations, ensuring quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepares high-quality food items according to recipes and instructions to meet schedules.
  2. Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring proper portioning, temperature, and presentation.
  3. Uses established ticket collection procedures; maintains records during service.
  4. Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and stores excess food safely.
  5. Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized.
  6. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
  7. Assists in production planning, record keeping, and ordering supplies.
  8. Reports maintenance issues or accidents promptly.
  9. Attends safety and in-service meetings.
  10. Maintains good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  11. Follows safety standards including HACCP, proper handling, and safety protocols.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
