Job Details

This is a Cook (Full-Time) position located in Tupelo, MS. Join Dismas Charities, one of the nation's largest not-for-profit providers specializing in community-based adult re-entry programs. Responsibilities

1. Prepare meals and supplements for the center, manage food service inventory, and maintain food service equipment.
2. Assist the Director with coordinating outside agency inspections.
3. Plan and implement menus in compliance with regulations, standards, and approved menus.
4. Manage inventory, food ordering, and network with local food banks.
5. Maintain sanitary and safety standards in the kitchen and related areas.
6. Keep records related to food service operations.
7. Participate in emergency drills, safety procedures, and other operational protocols.

Work Schedule

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, with variable hours as needed. Shift: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, Split/Flex Shift. Be prepared to work additional hours in case of work stoppages.

Job Requirements

• At least two years of paid food service experience, including administrative duties such as food ordering, budget management, inspection planning, and equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to cook, organize, and manage food service operations within budgetary guidelines.
• Comparable experience, training, or skills may be considered.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, talk, hear, and taste or smell. Occasionally required to sit, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. May need to drive a vehicle.

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions, occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, and electrical shocks. Moderate noise levels.
