Job summary

Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Full-time Cook to join our team. The cook will prep and prepare food for residents and staff, ensuring meals meet nutritional and dietary requirements. Nursing home experience is preferred and adherence to sanitary regulations is essential.

Responsibilities include following production sheets, utilizing standardized recipes, and handling dietary equipment. Excellent cooking knowledge and ability to work a rotating schedule are required.

Qualifications

• Must have general cooking knowledge.
• 2 years of cooking experience.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Prepares nutritionally appropriate meals, including modified diets, as directed.
• Cares for dietary equipment.
• Follows menus and diet instructions.
• Monitors food temperatures and ensures safe storage and handling.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor.

Surge Rehabilitation and Nursing has an opportunity for a Full-time Cook to join their team!

The cook is responsible for prepping and preparing food for residents and staff.

Nursing Home experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Handles and prepares food in accordance with federal, state and local sanitary regulations.
• Prepares nutritionally appropriate and appetizing meals, including modified consistency and therapeutic diets, as directed by Food Service Director and/or Supervisor.
• Properly cares for dietary equipment.
• Follows menus and special diet instructions.
• Takes food temperatures per policy and ensures food items are prepared, cooled and stored in adherence to corporate, local, state and federal guidelines.
• Other Duties as assigned by the Director or Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must have general cooking knowledge
• 2 years of cooking experience
• Experience in a healthcare setting helpful
• Must be able to follow production sheets and standardized recipes

Salary: $24 per hour

Shift available: M-F, Rotating Weekends, Evening shift
