Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare and serve high-quality meals in a timely, sanitary kitchen environment in Hammonton, NJ. You will follow established recipes, maintain cleanliness, and ensure compliance with safety standards while supporting patient-focused dietary needs.

The role requires ServSafe certification, prior food service experience, and a high school diploma. Weekend availability, 11:00am–7:00pm, and full-time engagement are expected with comprehensive

Qualifications

  • ServSafe Certification required for food safety compliance.
  • Prior experience in food service preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent completed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, cooks, and serves food according to policies and standards.
  • Works with standardized menus and recipes to meet service needs.
  • Keeps kitchen clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Follows food safety guidelines during handling and storage.
  • Adheres to portion controls and uses proper utensils.
  • Calculates quantities to meet dietary requirements.
  • Documents temperature logs and other required records.
  • Washes and sanitizes dishes and equipment after use.
  • Performs routine cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Operates and cleans kitchen equipment per procedures.
  • Reports maintenance issues to supervisor immediately.
  • Assists with receiving, rotating, and storing supplies.
  • Maintains excellent customer service and resolves concerns.
  • Reports workplace accidents or illnesses promptly.
  • Completes mandatory trainings and assigned hours.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Summary:

The cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This includes operating and cleaning kitchen equipment and maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen and service areas, all in accordance with department policies and procedures.

Pay:

$18/hr

Shift:

11:00am to 7:00pm - weekend availability required

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares, cooks, and serves food according to established policies, procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares high-quality food using standardized menus and recipes to meet production needs and meal service schedules.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe environment in the kitchen at all times.
  • Complies with food safety standards and guidelines during all phases of food handling.
  • Adheres to portion control by using standardized recipes and proper utensils for measurement.
  • Accurately determines quantities of food to be prepared. Prepares meals that meet the needs of clients with dietary restrictions.
  • Completes all required documentation, including food and equipment temperature logs.
  • Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils, and equipment, returning them to proper storage areas as requested.
  • Performs daily and/or scheduled cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Operates and cleans equipment according to department procedures; reports needed maintenance and faulty equipment to supervisor immediately.
  • Assists in assuring the proper receiving, rotating, and storage of food and supplies.
  • Maintains excellent customer service and resolves client concerns professionally.
  • Promptly reports workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses.
  • Completes required trainings and mandatory training hours.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required skills/education:
  • ServSafe Certification.
  • Previous food service experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma.
