Job summary

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals in a clean, safe kitchen aligned with treatment programs. You will support dietary plans and dietary restrictions while upholding high standards of quality and safety.

The role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare setting, collaborate with staff, and maintain accurate temperature logs and documentation as needed.

Position Summary

The Full‑Time Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment. This role ensures clients receive nutritious meals that meet dietary requirements and support their treatment and recovery experience.

Essential Responsibilities
Meal Preparation & Service
  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to established menus and recipes
  • Ensure meals meet quality, taste, presentation, and portion standards
  • Accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions as directed
  • Assist with menu planning and food preparation based on client census and facility needs
  • Ensure timely meal service for clients and staff
Kitchen Operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen and food service areas
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines
  • Complete required temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and documentation
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, dishes, utensils, and workstations
  • Assist with receiving, storing, labeling, and rotating food inventory
  • Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs to leadership
Safety & Compliance
  • Adhere to all local, state, and company food service regulations
  • Report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns promptly
  • Participate in required trainings and maintain applicable certifications
  • Follow all Pyramid Healthcare policies and procedures
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety
Preferred
  • Previous experience as a Cook, Dietary Aide, Line Cook, or Food Service Worker
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, long‑term care, or institutional food service settings
  • ServSafe Certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines
