The Cook is responsible for the preparation and serving of meals for residents, cooking a variety of foods that ensure high quality and resident satisfaction, maintaining cleanliness of the food service area. The Cook supervises the kitchen staff in the absence of the Manager or Lead Cook.
High school diploma or GED.
One to two years of recent experience as a cook.
Serve Safe Certification.
Knowledge of safe food handling and preparation, practices to avoid waste and misuse, and ability to present foods attractively. Broad knowledge of breakfast, lunch, and dinner entree preparation, including scratch soups, sauces/gravies, starches, and vegetables.
