Winfield Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team and prepare nutritious meals for residents while following approved menus and dietary guidelines. You will serve meals with proper portion control and contribute to a safe, clean dining environment.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma, 1 year of cooking experience, and exposure to healthcare or skilled nursing settings. ServSafe certification is preferred. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience as a Cook preferred.
• Healthcare/skilled nursing home experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain timely meal service and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Review daily menus and event calendars to confirm necessary ingredients and supplies.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, visually appealing, and consistent with residents’ dietary needs.
• Follow standardized recipes and substitutions only when authorized.
• Serve food using proper portion control methods.
• Assist with preparing special meals for events and celebrations.
• Estimate portions and manage leftovers to minimize waste and control costs.
• Adhere to sanitation, storage, and recordkeeping regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain organized cooler and freezer spaces.
• Complete daily cleaning assignments to uphold sanitation standards.

Schedule: Monday -Friday Day Shift 5a-1pm and every other weekend

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., steamer, oven, grill, meat slicer, mixer, grinder, dishwasher)
• Maintain organized, clean, and compliant cooler and freezer spaces
• Complete daily cleaning assignments to uphold sanitation standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience as a Cook preferred.
• Healthcare/skilled nursing home experience preferred.
• ServSafe certified preferred
