Job summary

KinderCare Learning Companies is hiring a Cook to prepare healthy meals and snacks for children in our centers, following menus created by our in-house nutritionist. You will ensure safe food handling, manage supplies, and support daily center operations while engaging with children and families.

Qualifications

• A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day.
• Familiarity with accurate food handling and storage, understanding allergies, and preventing cross-contamination.
• Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare appropriate quantities for the center population.
• Basic math skills for measuring and portions.
• Possess a Food Handler’s License or willingness to obtain.
• At least one year of institutional cooking; two+ years with children is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and related equipment safely and hygienically.
• Order food and supplies.
• Dispense and store medication as requested.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation per KinderCare and licensing requirements.
• Help with daily center duties and support enrollment, accreditation, and engagement goals.
• Work with center staff and leadership to support center success.
