Job summary

Aster Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is hiring a Cook at our Tinton Falls, NJ facility. You will prepare meals according to recipes and dietary plans, follow safety standards, and assist with plating and presentation for residents.

We value ServSafe certification and prior experience in commercial or healthcare kitchen settings, with a resident-centered approach. Shifts are available; every other weekend is required.

At Aster Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, our new management team is putting staff first with higher pay rates, improved staffing ratios, and a genuinely supportive culture.

Shifts Available:

• 6AM-2PM
• 11AM-7PM
• Every other weekend is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals and follow establishment recipes in accordance with prescribed dietary plans and resident preferences.
• Ensure proper food handling, preparation, and storage standards comply with safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist in setting up dining trays and plating meals to ensure appealing presentation and accurate portion sizes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment, including equipment sanitization.
• Collaborate with the dietary team and clinical staff to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions.

Qualifications:

• ServSafe certification required.
• Previous commercial cooking, batch cooking, or culinary experience (experience in long-term care or healthcare settings is a plus).
• Knowledge of food safety, food handling procedures, and sanitation standards.
• A strong work ethic, team spirit, and a passionate, resident-centered attitude.
