Sesame Place Philadelphia is seeking enthusiastic Ambassadors for part-time Cook roles in the Food & Beverage team. You will prepare high quality foods to SeaWorld standards, follow HACCP guidelines, and operate open flame grills, smokerts, steam kettles and other kitchen gear.

You will assemble wraps, salads and other items, test temperatures, and keep areas clean while handling allergens knowledge. Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays are available.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking in a fast-paced environment with allergy awareness.
• Ability to work with all food types and allergens safely.
• Basic knife skills and kitchen safety knowledge.

Responsabilités

Come and play an important part on our incredible team today!**What you get to do:**You’ll prepare high quality food that meets SeaWorld standards by following menu specifications. You will follow all safety and HACCP guidelines, use proper protective gear, and test food temperatures. You will also:* Oversee final prepared food quality* Cook high-quality food to menu specifications* Utilize advanced and non-automated kitchen equipment, including open flame char grill, smokers, steam kettles, woks and large bakery machinery* Complete food prep by cutting and chopping of vegetables, fruits and meats* Assemble wraps, sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, etc.* Keep all assigned areas clean and sanitary* Incorporate knowledge of top eight allergens into the preparation of dietary meals* Interact with Ambassadors and guests and deliver excellent service* Perform other duties as assigned**What it takes to succeed:*** Ability to work with all food types, including food allergens, in any dining facility* At least one year of cooking experience or a combination of cooking experience and culinary school* Basic knife skills* Ability to pass SafeStaff training and RCS Responsible Vendor Training (alcohol)* Ability to train on and use protective gear and kitchen equipment* Ability to multi task in a fast-paced, high-production environment* Ability to prepare special dietary meals* Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests* Valid state driver's license preferred* In-depth food safety and allergen knowledge a plus* Perform other duties as assigned**What else is important:*** Able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.* Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed* Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)* Able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat.
