Job summary

Benedictine Living is seeking a Float Cook to prepare hot and cold foods for patients, residents, visitors, and staff across Benedictine communities in the Hastings region. The role involves leading Culinary Services Aides, following recipes and safety guidelines, and traveling as needed.

You will operate and sanitize equipment, ensure portion control, and contribute to the mission of hospitality, stewardship, respect and justice within the organization.

Qualifications

• Quantity food production experience
• Completion of an approved food safety sanitation course, or completion within the first 90 days of employment

• Prepares food following food safety guidelines, diet restrictions and standardized recipes.
• Serves food according to portion control guides and diet restrictions.
• Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
• Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Overview

Prepare both hot and cold food items for patients, residents, visitors and staff. Serve food, clean equipment and work area, and put stock away. Lead Culinary Services Aides in day-to-day operations and actively participate in all culinary training. This position will be required to travel and provide care at all Benedictine communities within the assigned region as needed/required.
