Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking a per diem Food Service Worker to support patient meals, staff, and visitors with a customer-service approach. You will follow standardized recipes, prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and ensure proper labeling and storage.

Responsibilities include documenting preparation, maintaining all safety and sanitation standards, and assisting with menu adjustments to reduce leftovers.

Job Summary

Prepares food for patients, employees, visitors and special functions. Maintains a customer service approach at all times when fulfilling responsibilities.

Job Duties

Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner foods using standardized recipes and methods of preparation.

Documents preparation and usage of food according to established standards.

Maintains all quality, safety, and sanitation standards making sure all items are wrapped and stored and labeled properly during all phases of production.

Recommends menu changes necessary to deal with leftovers and processes leftovers appropriately.

Position Details

This is a Flex position (per diem, hours as needed). Non-benefits eligible.

Hours will vary based on department staffing needs.

Prior experience with food handling preferred (prep, serving, cleaning, customer service).

Education
