Job summary

Portillo’s is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve its classic menu items in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring quality, sanitation and a clean station while collaborating with team members to meet customer demand.

The Cook will handle Italian Beef, burgers, hot dogs, fries and other entrees, prepare fresh vegetables and sauces, maintain portion control and follow safety standards to keep lines moving efficiently during high-volume periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced kitchen environments is preferred.
• Must have worked at Portillo’s for at least 1 year with an average of 20 hours over a 6‑month period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all classic menu items to order, including Italian Beef, burgers, hot dogs and fries.
• Prepare fresh vegetables, sauces and other ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain a spotless workstation and adhere to sanitation and food safety protocols.
• Work as a team player to help and serve guests and fellow team members.
• Handle high-volume periods with urgency, keeping lines moving efficiently.
• Maintain portion control and monitor food levels throughout the shift.
