Job summary

Weinberg Community in Deerfield, IL is seeking a Cook to prepare meals according to menus and recipes, maintain proper food temperatures, and ensure timely service for all meals. The role requires adherence to health codes, safety standards, and CJE SeniorLife policies, with a focus on quality presentation and teamwork.

The position is full-time, with a schedule spanning Monday through Sunday, 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, and compensation at $21.09 per hour plus a $0.75 shift differential for 2nd shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or 2–3 years related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Comply with state and local health codes for food handling.
• Adhere to personal hygiene policy and training requirements.
• Produce and cook food according to menus, recipes, and portions established by Chef.
• Maintain proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during preparation and service.
• Keep work areas clean and ensure FIFO rotation and proper labeling of perishables.
• Perform other duties as assigned and support a positive, professional environment.
