Job summary

Ortonville Area Health Services is seeking a compassionate Cook/Dietary Aide for its Fairway View Neighborhoods. In this role you will prepare meals, serve residents, and uphold food safety standards to support a high‑quality dining experience for seniors in a long‑term care setting.

You will work as part of the Nutrition Services team with a focus on accurate portions, proper temperatures, and clean dining areas, while helping residents enjoy nutritious meals.

Description

Fairway View Neighborhoods seeks a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Cook/Dietary Aide to join our Nutrition Services team. This role is responsible for preparing nutritious meals, serving residents, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting a positive dining experience for seniors residing in our long-term care community.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with older adults, takes pride in providing high-quality meals, and understands the important role nutrition plays in resident health and well-being

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and therapeutic diet requirements
• Demonstrates understanding of procedures relating to food handling, dish washing, sanitizing work and eating surfaces
• Performs dietary activities according to instructions and established procedures and state/federal regulations
• Has working knowledge of diets, uses proper portions, garnishes and makes appropriate substitutions
• Ensure food is prepared and served in an attractive, appetizing manner
• Monitor portion control and food temperatures to maintain quality and safety
• Clean and sanitize dining rooms, kitchen surfaces, and food service equipment.
• Stock supplies and assist with kitchen organization.

Hours and Pay:

• Regular Part Time (64 hours per 2 week pay period), every other weekend rotation
