Meadowview of Johnston is hiring a Cook/Culinary Assistant to join our team in Johnston, IA. You will prepare meals, ensure nutrition and quality, and serve residents, staff, and families in a supportive healthcare environment.

We offer on-the-job training, benefits, and opportunities for growth within Cassia’s nonprofit senior care network. The role features daytime shifts with every other weekend, based at our Johnston campus.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of commercial cooking/food preparation experience.
• Strong communication skills with residents and staff.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all meals to ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.
• Observe and report on low stock or high-demand choices.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, staff, and families.
• Work within the department to provide quality and nutritious meals and service to residents.
• Assist with food preparation and serving meals to residents.
• Help maintain a clean and sanitary dietary department.
• Wash dishes and clean the kitchen and dining rooms.
• Assist residents, employees, and guests with a broad range of dietary needs.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Cook/ Culinary Assistant Responsibilities
