Job summary

Meadowview of Johnston, a Cassia community, is seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to join our team in Johnston, IA. You will identify maintenance issues, perform routine repairs, and help keep the campus in top condition.

No prior senior care experience is required, but strong problem solving and communication skills help you succeed. Location at 5555 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA 50131, with a varied schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify maintenance issues and perform on-site repairs.
• Follow scheduled maintenance programs and respond to resident requests.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Paint walls and handle related touch-ups and maintenance tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Meadowview of Johnston, a Cassia community, is looking for aMaintenance Assistant to join our team in Johnston, IA! No prior senior care experience necessary! Come and join our supportive, energetic and passionate team, where your skills will help make an impact on our community.

As a Maintenance Assistant at Meadowview of Johnston, you will be on-the-move to identify maintenance issues and work hands on to correct them. You will also perform routine maintenance repairs at the campus. You will have the opportunity to bond with our residents and make a difference in their lives. Our ideal candidate is a resourceful leader with excellent problem solving, customer service and time management skills.

Position Type: Part-Time working a varied schedule including weekends

Location: 5555 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA 50131

Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities

• Additional duties may include cleaning windows, moving and arranging furniture.
• Perform routine maintenance repairs and projects as needed.
• Follow scheduledmaintenance program.
• Respond to maintenance requests by residents and staff.
• Follow-through on projects with little supervision.
• Perform manual tasks and carry out all given job related instructions.
• Keep detailed reports of ongoing and completed projects.
• Painting walls, paint retouches, and other related tasks.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Maintenance Assistant Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
• Able to make repairs inside and outside of building, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, replace light bulbs, filters, etc.
• Able to use basic maintenance tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, drill, etc.
• Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
