Job summary

The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is seeking part-time Cook Crew Members at Merritt Island, Florida. You will handle, chop, cook and serve a wide variety of foods, and ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment while meeting safety standards.

Candidates must be 18+, have prior cooking experience, read and follow English instructions, obtain a food handler’s certification, have a valid driver’s license, and be available to work weekends and holidays. NASA entry requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience as a cook is required.
• Attention to detail is essential.
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Must be available to work weekends and holidays, and to work on-call by being scheduled within 24 hours.
• Must be able to obtain a food handlers’ certification.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to drive yourself to and from work.
• This position requires authorization to work at Kennedy Space Center and completion of all site access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handling, chopping, assembling, cooking and serving a wide variety of foods.
• Safely operate, sanitize, and clean all equipment, including that used for food service.
• Comply with all property and departmental standards as they pertain to safety and security.
• You may be regularly required to drive yourself to a remote work location where public transportation is not available, and you will be asked to show NASA credentials for entry.
• After 6 months of start date you are eligible to transfer to operations and retail departments.
• Drive a company vehicle as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
