Position: Cook / Chef - Full Time

Shift: 6:30a-3p and 10:30a-7p

Pay: $16 - $18 Depending on Experience

NHC fosters an environment of teamwork and provides opportunities in a culinary environment within a healthcare setting. The Food and Nutrition Services Cook performs duties to maintain high standards of quality food preparation, production, service, and portion control, using standardized recipes for all customers.

Position Highlights:

1. Assists in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure quality. Properly dates, labels,, and stores items. Uses proper food handling techniques.
2. Reviews menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets before preparing meals; prepares and serves diets accurately, attractively, and as planned, using proper portions and accommodating special diets.
3. Follows standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities to meet all service requirements.
4. Tests and tastes foods of all consistencies for appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature; adjusts as needed.
5. Coordinates meal and snack preparation timing to meet service schedules for patients and customers, ensuring timely service.
6. Checks trays for accuracy of diets, preferences, and quality before delivery. Serves on tray line and delivers carts to floors as needed.
