Job description

SUMMARY:
It is the responsibility of the cook to prepare all food items according to Cadillac Bar menu, recipes, and plate specifications, as well as guest requests. The cook must ensure food preparation and service of the highest quality, adhering to specified prep times. This role requires a high level of professional and personalized guest service that embodies the Company’s brand standards and core values (K.E.E.P. – Kindness, Engagement, Empathy, and Positivity).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ability to read, decipher, and execute cooking procedures and plate presentation based on established recipes and plate specifications.
  2. Work quickly and accurately while maintaining food preparation within Cadillac Bar timing guidelines.
  3. Arrive to work with a clean and professional appearance, equipped with all relevant work necessities.
  4. Thorough knowledge of food menus and plate specifications to ensure proper quality, presentation, and superior service.
  5. Ensure product quality through proper rotation and portioning.
  6. Maintain your station and the kitchen, keeping it organized, sanitized, and stocked to prescribed PAR levels.
  7. Be detail-oriented.
  8. Use proper food handling techniques when preparing food.
  9. Operate kitchen equipment properly and safely throughout the restaurant.
  10. Maintain a safe work environment and utilize safety equipment as applicable.
  11. Engage in teamwork by offering help to colleagues and managers to provide the best possible service to guests.
  12. Be courteous, respectful, positive, and professional at all times.
  13. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and health laws.
  14. Follow directions efficiently and positively.
  15. Communicate with management regarding supply needs, equipment issues, or other areas requiring attention.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Health card required.
  • Excellent people skills, ability to communicate and perform tasks in a fast-paced environment, and respectful demeanor.
  • At least one year of cooking experience, preferably in a hotel or casino environment.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and knife skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
