Compensation

$14.70 USD Hourly

Job Summary

The line cook will work with kitchen staff in the daily production, preparation, and presentation of all food for the restaurant in a safe and sanitary environment. Ensure all food is served according to specifications set by the supervisor.

Job Description
Essential Functions
  1. Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, menus, and supervisor instructions.
  2. Maintain and rotate all food items to ensure quality; label all food and practice FIFO.
  3. Clean and inspect kitchen equipment and work areas.
  4. Operate food stations, perform checklists, temperature logs, and signage.
  5. Requisition supplies and equipment based on future needs.
  6. Monitor menus and expenses to ensure economical meal preparation.
  7. Be knowledgeable of all restaurant stations and menu presentations.
  8. Report safety issues immediately to management.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred.
  • At least one year of culinary experience.
  • Food Safety certification and good sanitation habits.
  • Strong customer service skills and proactive assistance to customers and coworkers.
  • Ability to recognize problems and communicate them to management.
Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Frequent movement, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., standing all day, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to work in temperature extremes and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical presence at the job site is essential.
Equipment Used
  • Standard commercial cooking machinery and utensils.
