Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for preparing food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, following the policies and procedures of the Food and Nutrition Department. Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and/or Director of FNS, the employee prepares a variety of food items according to established recipes, adjusting recipes as needed to meet nutritional and age-specific needs (neonate to geriatric). The cook must complete all assignments to meet serving times and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures to prevent foodborne illness.
