Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cook 3 | Ryder Cup Grille (Full Time) to join our team. Omni Frisco PGA Resort will feature 127,000 sq ft of event space, 13 food and beverage outlets, a spa, and an entertainment district, including two championship 18-hole golf courses and a third short course, offering excellent dining, event, and entertainment options.

The Ryder Cup Grille Cook 3 will ensure food is prepared according to menu specifications in a timely and safe manner. Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to create memorable culinary experiences, delivering well-prepared, flavorful food.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food, perform related culinary functions, taste and season appropriately.
  • Demonstrate strong culinary skills with intermediate proficiency.
  • Work with minimal supervision and some guidance depending on task complexity.
  • Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Utilize and prepare food with current products and ingredients.
  • Apply traditional knife skills consistently.
  • Move between stations following Omni and Chef standards.
  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Execute soups and sauces with minimal supervision.
  • Prioritize, organize, and follow through on tasks.
  • Work efficiently under pressure to meet schedules and guest needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety and health standards, including EcoSure compliance.
  • Assist in setting up and stocking stations with minimal supervision.
  • Complete opening and closing checklists.
  • Maintain proper equipment usage and safety.
  • Ensure food quality and timely delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with team members during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques (e.g., braising, sautéing, baking, roasting, poaching, grilling, steaming, frying).
  • Good knife skills and ability to read and execute recipes.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and conversions.
  • Experience in high-volume hotel, resort, or restaurant environment; at least 1 year preferred.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards; ServeSafe certification preferred.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motions.
