Job summary

Focus Health Network in Norristown, PA is hiring a compassionate cook for our nursing home kitchen. You will prepare nutritious, home-style meals for our residents.

We offer full-time and part-time positions with a 10:00 AM–6:00 PM shift and alternating weekends and holidays. ServSafe certification is preferred or can be completed after hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• ServSafe certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hire.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, stand, bend and walk for extended periods.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

• Prepares food as assigned according to standardized recipes to provide residents with consistently accurate, tasty, and cost-effective meals.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, ensuring correct temperature, and attractive presentation.

Shift Available:

Cook Key Duties

• Prepares food as assigned according to standardized recipes to provide resident with consistently accurate, tasteful, and cost-effective meals.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlines standards, ensuring that the food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items for quality control.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintain standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food- handling procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as they become required.

Cook Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• ServSafe Certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hired.
• Ability to lift/carry a maximum of fifty pounds, push/pull a maximum of fifty pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
