SSP America at the Fredrick Douglass Greater Rochester Airport is hiring a Line Cook to support our in-house dining experiences. You will receive food orders, prepare and present dishes, and keep the kitchen organized so every guest receives quality meals efficiently.

We require a minimum of one year in a food service environment, a high school diploma (preferred), and strong verbal/written communication. You must be able to stand for long periods and perform basic math while maintaining health

• Basic math and working knowledge of recipes and portion control.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Follow recipes and portion control to prepare, garnish, and present items.
• Maintain proper setup of the kitchen station daily.
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
• Keep stock and perishables organized and safe.
• Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists.
• Ensure quality and consistency of served items.
• Perform cleaning tasks to meet health standards.

SSP America operates multiple restaurants in the Fredrick Douglass Greater Rochester Airport. At SSP America, our Line Cooks have the important role of receiving food orders, preparing delicious dishes for our guests, properly setting up the kitchen so every Expert has the product and tools easily accessible during their shift.

Responsibilities as a Line Cook with SSP America:

• Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis
• Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality
• Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists as required
• Takes responsibility for quality of products served
• Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards

Skills and Other Requirements

• One year minimum experience working in food service environment
• High school diploma, preferred
• Verbal and written communication is essential
• Basic mathematical skills
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
