Cook 1 - Banquets - Conrad Los Angeles (Finance)




Be a part of the newest luxury hotel in downtown LA, Conrad Los Angeles! As part of the billion-dollar project, The Grand LA, this is the 7th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1st in California.

Located in Downtown LA's cultural corridor, Conrad Los Angeles is the city's newest luxury destination, featuring over 300 rooms, a world-class spa, a 16,000-square-foot rooftop pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and three dynamic dining experiences—including our signature restaurant, San Laurel, all in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-winning restaurant group, JoseAndresFoodGroup.

In this role as a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards to ensure outstanding service.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of cooking experience in a hotel/restaurant environment. Good working knowledge of sanitation standards and operating all kitchen equipment, such as stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, kettles, etc., following proper manuals or chefs' instructions. Basic math skills are necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes. Must be able to read, write, and speak English to complete requisitions, read recipes, and communicate with team members. Manual dexterity is required to use kitchen equipment like knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, etc. Ability to work in confined spaces and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. Must be a team player and capable of following culinary recipes accurately. Physical ability to bend, stoop, walk, and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodations. Ability to work a full shift (8 hours), standing and walking, with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What will I be doing?

  1. Preparing all food items according to standard recipes and guest orders to ensure consistency and quality.
  2. Inspecting, selecting, and using food items suitable for cooking, maintaining proper storage, rotation, and quality standards.
  3. Maintaining cleanliness and organization of refrigeration, storage, and work areas in compliance with health regulations.
  4. Preparing daily requisitions for supplies and food items needed for production.
  5. Employing math skills to follow recipes accurately.

The hourly rate is $27.18, based on experience and location.
