Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking a Dietary Aide to help prepare food for the dining room and patients under the supervision of the Cook II/Executive Chef.

Primary tasks include following standardized recipes, cooking on the grill, plating meals, monitoring quality, and assisting with inventory and supply orders while maintaining cleanliness and safety in a hospital kitchen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Vocational/technical training preferred.
• Minimal one year of related experience desired.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cool foods using standardized recipes and HACCP records.
• Cook on grill and plate meals for patient services.
• Maintain quality and quantity control by inventorying and ordering supplies.
• Keep work area clean and sanitary; follow food safety procedures.
• Assist with catering events and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the preparation and cooling of foods using standardized recipes, production sheets and HACCP Records under the supervision of a cook.
• Prepare and cook food on grill.
• Serves and plates meals for patient services.
• Control quantity and quality of foods used on a daily basis by taking inventory daily and ordering supplies as needed.
• Maintains high standards of food handling and cleanliness in the work area.
• Responsible for cleaning production area prior to end of shift.
• Responsible for maintaining principles of proper food production and other related activities.
• Assists with catered events for food preparation and service.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

High School Diploma is required. Vocational/technical training and a minimum of one year痴 job-related experience required. Must be able to follow directions, both oral and written. Must be able to read and write, use simple arithmetic, and keep simple records. Proficiency in the English language required.
