Job summary

York Hospital in York, Maine is seeking an experienced Cook to join the Dining & Nutrition Team. The role focuses on coordinating and preparing appealing, nutritious meals for patients, dining-room guests, home delivery clients, and catered events, while adhering to safety standards.

You will work with the Production Manager, Director of Dining Services, and Dieticians to ensure meals meet diet guidelines for inpatients and special diets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of specialized culinary training or prior similar experience.
• Two years of institutional or retail cooking experience.
• Strong reading, writing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and prepare attractive, nutritious, safely prepared meals for patients and dining-room guests.
• Support home delivery and catered events; collaborate with the Dietetics team to follow modified diets.

Salary Range: $18.36 - $30.08 per hour

We have an opportunity for an experienced Cook in our Dining & Nutrition Team located within the hospital in York, Maine.

The Cook is a member of the Dining and Nutrition Services group and is principally responsible for working closely with the Production Manager and Director of Dining Services to coordinate and prepare attractive, nutritious, and safely prepared food for patients, dining room customers, home delivery clientele, and catered events. The Cook also works closely with the Dieticians and Dietician's Assistants to ensure that prepared food meets guidelines for modified diets for inpatients.

• Education: High school degree or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: One year of specialized culinary training or previous experience in a similar setting. Two year institutional or retail cooking experience.
• Organizational ability and good communication skills necessary.
