A leading healthcare facility is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals, ensuring compliance with health standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, strong food safety knowledge, and the ability to work in a clinical environment. Responsibilities include meal preparation, sanitation, and teamwork with dietary aides to deliver quality food service.
The Dietary Aide must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally, and be a team player who works well with others. Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate functions.
The Cook prepares and serves food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, according to the facility menu. Prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, in line with established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Dining Services Director or Chef, to ensure quality food service at all times.
The Cook assists in ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are followed. The Cook must be detail-oriented, well-groomed, act professionally, and be a team player who works well with others. The Cook also assists dietary aides as necessary and directs other employees with approval, especially in the absence of the Dining Services Director.
Required skills include the ability to read, speak, and understand English, follow directions, and complete tasks. Must follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving. Maintains a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance. Must be dependable, with experience in facilities utilizing quantity food production methods. General knowledge of nutrition, ability to read and apply requirements of food tray cards, maintain records, and complete reports are essential. Good written and oral communication skills, knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, food safety/sanitation requirements, and positive interaction with residents, clients, other personnel, and the public are also required.
The ability to work around food and cleaning products is necessary. Candidates must live in the service area.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
Work Schedule: As assigned, including some weekends, evenings, and holidays.
