State of West Virginia is seeking a cook to prepare and cook food items in a state facility under general supervision. The role may involve supervising Food Service Workers as directed by the supervisor and requires meeting food safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of large-scale food preparation experience, the ability to pass an eighth-grade level written test, and must obtain a food handler's certificate within seven days of appointment.

These position work under general supervision, performs full-performance level work preparing and cooking and/or baking food items in a state facility. May select or vary methods and foods as needed. May supervise Food Service Workers or other positions assigned to this area, as directed by supervisor. Performs related work as required.

Training: Ability to pass a written test at the eighth grade level.
