Job summary

Southview Acres Health Care Center in Minnesota seeks a Cook to join our dietary team. You will report to the Dietary Manager, follow standardized recipes, prep meals, rotate stock, and keep the kitchen clean and organized. Healthcare food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow standardized recipes.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak English effectively.
• Three years of food service experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to and follow directions from Dietary Manager.
• Maintain accurate food counts.
• Will prep meals following Facility Recipes.
• Rotate stock items as per procedures.
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift.
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and by following food, health, and safety procedures.
• Prepares items to be used for next day’s meals.
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts.

The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively.
