Job summary

Southview Acres Health Care Center in Minnesota is seeking a Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate has prior cooking experience, thrives in a busy setting, and can take direction well while multitasking to deliver quality meals.

Responsibilities include following recipes, preparing meals, stocking and rotating items, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety. Healthcare food service experience and Serv-Safe certification are preferred, with a focus on teamwork and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Three years of food service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Serv-Safe Certification preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English effectively to use recipes, prepare meals and communicate effectively.
• The ability to read and follow standardized recipes.

• Report to and follows directions from Dietary Manager.
• Maintain accurate food counts
• Will prep meals following Facility Recipes
• Rotate stock items as per procedures
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and by following food, health, and safety procedures
• Prepares items to be used for next day’s meals
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts

The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. If you have experience and a passion for food prep and strong customer service.
