Job summary

Savant Senior Living seeks a dedicated cook to provide appealing, nutritious meals for our senior residents and guests in a caring, homelike setting. Reporting to the Dining Services Director, you will prepare heart-healthy and tasty dishes while following menus and safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years’ experience in food preparation within healthcare, restaurant, or institutional settings, with strong English communication skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation.
• Speak, read, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Prepare appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests.
• Follow menus, recipes and food labels; maintain kitchen safety and sanitation.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests

Must haves:

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
• Speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
• May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.

Pay rate $23-$25.50 per hour
