Job summary

Northgate Care Center in Iowa is hiring a Cook for two shifts: 5a-1:30p and 11:30a-6:30p every other weekend. You will prepare meals for residents, follow dietary needs, and ensure safe food handling and temperatures.

The role offers growth opportunities within our supportive team and a competitive benefits package. Ideal candidates have a tenth-grade education and prior Skilled Nursing foodservice experience is preferred; training is available for the right person.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th grade education or equivalent.
• Experience in Skilled Nursing foodservice preferred but training offered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion meals for residents according to diet orders.
• Follow recipes and scale to prepare large quantities.
• Record temperatures and maintain food safety standards.
• Ensure high quality and timely dining experiences for residents.

As a Cook you will provide residents with one of their favorite parts of the day! Your work ensure our residents receive the high standard of food quality they have grown to expect at Northgate Care Center by preparing and ensuring residents receive the appropriate food items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and following recipes for preparing large volumes of food. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive a pleasant and safe dining experience.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have: As a minimum, a tenth (10th) grade education. Prior Skilled Nursing Foodservice experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
