Job summary

Northgate Care Center in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our skilled nursing dining team. You will prepare meals, ensure dietary needs are met, and help deliver high-quality dining experiences for residents.

As part of the 2nd shift (11:30a-6:30p) with every other weekend, you will monitor temperatures, follow recipes for large-volume service, and maintain food safety and kitchen cleanliness. A 10th grade education is required; SNF foodservice experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10th grade education.
• Prior skilled nursing foodservice experience is preferable, but we are willing to invest in the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and ensure residents receive appropriate food items for each meal.
• Record temperatures and follow recipes for large-volume service.
• Ensure safety of food and equipment and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Deliver a high standard of dining experience for residents.

As a Cook you will provide residents with one of their favorite parts of the day! Your work ensure our residents receive the high standard of food quality they have grown to expect at Northgate Care Center by preparing and ensuring residents receive the appropriate food items for each meal in accordance to their dietary needs, ensuring the safety of food and equipment by recording temperatures, and following recipes for preparing large volumes of food. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive a pleasant and safe dining experience.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, a tenth (10th) grade education. Prior Skilled Nursing Foodservice experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
