Job description

About the position:

This is a RPT (part-time) position located at the Pershing Child Development Center on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position is guaranteed 20 hours per week.

Must have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start date.

Qualifications:

To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements below. Experience includes paid, unpaid, and volunteer work (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, social). Your resume must clearly describe relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, transcripts are required.

Must have:

1. One (1) year experience in food preparation principles, characteristics of food, and planning processes to ensure meals are prepared and cooked on time.
2. Ability to perform yield testing to determine portion cost and adjust ingredients in recipes.
3. Knowledge of procedures to order, issue, and store food.
4. Experience gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food activity.

Additional requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Read, speak, and write English.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment physical.
• Maintain current immunizations.
• Physically and behaviorally capable of performing job duties.
• Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally over 40 pounds.
• Able to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods.
• Obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training.

This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
