Summary of Job Duties: The Cook prepares meals and snacks according to recipes and menus planned by the Nutrition/Health Resource Specialist. The Cook prepares substitutions for dietary allergies/restrictions. This position maintains a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas and must keep accurate records daily. The Cook must have the ability to communicate effectively with outside organizations and interact with children during mealtimes, as needed, and is expected to attend meetings, trainings, and workshops as requested.
Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED plus one (1) year of experience in institutional or commercial cooking required.

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

• Prepares meals and snacks for children and staff.
• Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintains a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen and storage areas.
• Obtain 15 hours of continued job-related education/training by attending workshops, continuing educational courses, and meetings.
• Assists with mealtime in the classroom.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
